The Heart of Our Community Since 2001

Welcome to Jubilee Fields Community Centre, providing activities and services for local people in the heart of Shildon. Built during the Millennium and opened in April 2001, our centre was born from a local campaign to create a purpose-built hub for the Jubilee Estate. Today, we are more than just a building; we are a vibrant, safe, and secure venue where neighbours become friends and residents find the support they need to thrive.

Who We Are

We are a registered charity (No. 1107811) managed by a dedicated voluntary committee of local residents. Supported by a small, passionate staff team and an “army” of volunteers, we work tirelessly to meet the changing needs of our community. From our early days as a community vision to our current role as a modern multi-purpose hub, our commitment to Shildon remains unchanged: to provide a warm welcome for everyone.

What We Offer

Our modern facilities cater to all ages and interests, ensuring there is always something happening at “The Jube.”

  • Training & Skills: We host accredited and non-accredited courses, from essential IT skills and employability to mental health awareness and further education.

  • Social & Fitness: Our weekly schedule is packed with activities including Ladies’ and Men’s clubs, fitness classes, Slimming World, and even Community Bingo.

  • Families & Youth: We are a haven for young families, offering mother and baby groups, pre-school playgroups, and our popular children’s holiday clubs.

  • Wellbeing & Support: Through our Wednesday Breakfast Club and Friday Luncheon Club, we combat social isolation and ensure everyone has access to a hot meal and a friendly chat.

  • Confidentiality Room: A private, quiet space perfect for one-to-one meetings, counselling, or advice sessions.
